Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced in Belgrade that Serbia’s oil supply will remain secure despite sanctions-related pressure on its Russian-owned NIS refinery. Speaking alongside Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Djedjovic-Handanovic, he confirmed that Hungary’s MOL will sharply increase crude and fuel deliveries—doubling output in November and raising it 2.5 times in December. Djedjovic-Handanovic said Serbia is waiting for Washington’s decision on a licence allowing NIS to operate during negotiations to remove Russian ownership. If talks fail, Belgrade could take control of the refinery. Szijjarto accused Brussels of placing Hungary in an “impossible position” by restricting access to Russian energy.
