Asian Cup squad places are up for grabs as the Matildas begin their final international window before the tournament to be held across Sydney, Perth and the Gold Coast in March.

Tonight’s international friendly against New Zealand is the first of a double-header against the Football Ferns, with the sides also set to meet in Adelaide on Tuesday.

Captain Sam Kerr, still easing back to full fitness after a 20-month injury lay-off, is in contention for her first appearance on Australian soil for two years.

Hello and welcome to ABC Sport’s online coverage of the Matildas’ international friendly against New Zealand in Gosford.

Today is the first instalment of a double-header against the Football Ferns, with the sides also set to meet in Adelaide on Tuesday.

It’s a massive international window for Australia given these two games are the last scheduled before March’s Asian Cup.

Head coach Joe Montemurro says squad places for the tournament to be held across Perth, Sydney and the Gold Coast remain well and truly up for grabs and has an almost full-strength playing group to work with this week.

Who will impress?

Who won’t?

Let’s find out together!
