With Junior Eurovision 2025 only weeks away, Tim interviews Nela Mancheska who will represent North Macedonia with “Miracle” at the contest this year.
Check out our interview with Nela here!
Together they talked about her musical journey, her favourite Eurovision song and how it feels to be representing your country on the JESC stage.
Who is Nela Mancheska?
13 year old Nela Mancheska was selected to represent North Macedonia at Junior Eurovision following auditions earlier this year, but she is no stranger to the stage. She has already earned awards in several international competitions, confirming her status as one of the country’s most promising young performers.
According to MRT, the song speaks about “the light we all carry inside, about hope, courage, and the belief that even in the darkest moments, we can rise and shine again. … Every person is a miracle in their own way.”
North Macedonia’s Junior Eurovision journey
North Macedonia debuted in Junior Eurovision in the first edition of the Contest in Copenhagen in 2003. Their first entry was “Ti ne me poznavaš”, performed by Marija and Viktorija. At the close of voting, the duo finished in 12th place, earning 19 points. Since then, North Macedonia have taken part in 18 editions of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The only years which did not feature a North Macedonian artist were in 2012, 2014 and 2020; the last due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2024, the duo Ana and Aleksej represented North Macedonia with the song “Marathon”. They scored 54 total points, receiving 20 from the jury and 34 from the online vote, for an overall sixteenth place out of seventeen.
