      People don’t work at Bird life Malta for the money lol – it’s an NGO, and they pay isn’t great… And most of them are volunteers.

      The sad irony is that it’s the Maltese that completely destroyed their own country’s biodiversity.

      For the foreigners that don’t know most of these maltese trappers sit in a little hut for hours apon hours with net traps that do not actually hurt the birds. When they actually catch a bird they inspect it and release it. I said most not all, it’s the ones who then keep the birds who have made this hobby illegal.

      I don’t find this hobby interesting Its something my grandfather did I think it’s mind numbingly boring but he loved birds.

      Fyi scientists do the exact same thing to capture birds and place trackers on them to track migration patterns.
