3,492,586 tourists visited Malta during the first ten months of 2025, an increase of 12.4% over the same period in 2024, the National Statistics Office said.

“Total nights spent by inbound tourists went up by 10.8%, reaching 22.2 million nights.”

Total tourist expenditure was estimated at €3,467.7 million, 19.2% higher than that recorded for the same period in 2024. Total expenditure per capita increased to €993 from €936 in 2024, the NSO said.

The number of tourists visiting Gozo and Comino, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 2,059,918, or 59% of total tourists.

October 2025

Total inbound tourists for October 2025 were estimated at 417,103, an increase of 17.3% when compared to the corresponding month in 2024, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said.

During October, a total of 384,519 inbound tourists visited Malta for holiday purposes, and 23,269 tourists came for business purposes. The largest share of inbound tourists consisted of persons aged between 45 and 64 (38.4%), followed by the 25-44 age bracket (34%). British, Italian and Polish residents made up 41.3% of total inbound tourists, the NSO said.

Total nights spent in October 2025 went up by 15.7% when compared to October 2024, reaching 2.6 million nights. The largest share of guest nights (89.5%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments. The average length of stay of total inbound tourists stood at 6.1 nights, the NSO said.

Total tourist expenditure in October stood at €437.8 million, an increase of 22.8% over the corresponding month in 2024. The average expenditure per night was estimated at €170.7, it said. The number of tourists visiting Gozo and Comino, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 235,351, or 56.4% of total tourists during that month.
