Morocco’s women’s futsal team was knocked out of the World Cup in the Philippines on Monday after a 6–1 defeat to Spain in the quarterfinal in Manila, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.

Moroccan player Nadia Laftah scored Morocco’s only goal in the 13th minute.

The Atlas Lionesses had reached the knockout stage after finishing second in Group A with six points, earned through victories over the Philippines (3–2) and Poland (1–0).

Spain will face the winner of Tuesday’s Brazil–Japan quarterfinal match, battling for a place in the final.

In the other semifinal matches, Argentina will take on the winner of the Portugal–Italy matchup.
