Denmark has become the first NATO member to formally authorize Ukraine to establish defense manufacturing on its territory, a move that signals a new phase in Europe’s support for Kyiv, according to a report by Bild on December 2.
The new facility will be built in the southern town of Vojens, where the Ukrainian company Fire Point is preparing to open a site dedicated to producing solid rocket fuel.

Danish Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov, local mayor Mads Skau, and Fire Point’s Denmark director Viacheslav Bondarchuk marked the start of construction during a symbolic groundbreaking at the site.
Copenhagen’s approval follows a series of bilateral agreements signed this year between the two governments, laying the groundwork for Ukrainian defense production inside Europe.

The plant will be located near the Skrydstrup Air Base, a positioning that provides additional protection and logistical advantages. The facility is expected to manufacture military-grade solid rocket fuel, a critical component for several of Ukraine’s missile programs.
By placing the production line in Denmark, Kyiv reduces the risk of Russian strikes on its industrial infrastructure and ensures uninterrupted supplies of essential defense materials.
If construction and certification stay on schedule, the factory is planned to begin operations in 2026.
Earlier, reports emerged that Poland was preparing to launch production of Ukraine’s Seawolf unmanned surface drones as part of a new defense-industry investment package led by the Norwegian company Kongsberg.
