A number of documents were also signed in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, and the roadmap for the development of co-operation between Belarus and Algeria in 2026-2027 was the main one.

“Money loves silence. Therefore, we will not outline specific contracts in the roadmap. That would probably be wrong. At the same, the main directions, the responsible persons and exact deadlines would be determined,” Artur Karpovich, Belarus’ Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Algerian intergovernmental commission, informed. He added that the roadmap is being adopted for two years, as everything is changing rapidly in the world, “It probably does not make much sense to prepare a roadmap for five years: it should rather cover the near future.”

Mr. Karpovich noted that Algerians are oriental people, and certain issues are sometimes not easily resolved. “However, their attitude is appropriate when they see that they are treated with open minds, when they are addressed with open hearts. We have a dialogue with any minister, and it is well-focused,” he said.

It has already been determined that the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission will be held in Minsk in early February 2026.

Agreements have been signed on military-technical co-operation, interaction in the fields of animal health, scientific research, technological development, and innovation.

Memoranda of understanding have been signed at the level of relevant departments on co-operation in the legal field, in the sphere of scientific research and development of industries, in the field of agriculture, in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, and higher education.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding in the field of accreditation has been signed between the Belarusian State Accreditation Centre and ALGERAC.
