could be cool to install some at every traffic light and get your car charged while waiting. if the efficiency will be fine

It works perfectly, you only lose at least 10% in the process … facepalm

I don’t know why the comments are so upset about the 90% efficiency. Normal charging is only about 95% efficient, and fast charging is also around 90 (which is unsurprising, the losses have the same source: AC/DC conversion). Reaching that same efficiency wirelessly is really good.
I doubt anyone will rip out their cable in their garage at home for wireless, but this makes a lot of sense for applications where cables are cumbersome or might get vandalized. You could integrate this into the normal blue zone, for example.

Sounds like an EMC nightmare, I hope my neighbors don’t get one of those

wireless charging can work on anything if it has a charging coil and electronics for it. On a car you’ll have a lot more weight and thus less range

So swiss tests found out what Porsche already delivered with the new Cayenne? WoooOOOoooW!

Some things are not meant to be wirelessly charged, this is probably one of those situations.
