    Notes:

    * Generational cohorts are based on Pew Research definitions.
    * Gen Z (1997–2012): The minimum age for the Senate is 30; the oldest Gen Z members turn 28 this year, making them ineligible to serve until 2027.

No one in Gen Z is old enough to be a senator. Next are you going to show me that no one in Gen Alpha has received a drivers license?

  3. Of course there are no Gen-Z senators: they’re all still in high sch… <does some quick mental subtraction> … Fuck. I’m old.

  4. In fairness to the Zoomers, you have to be 30 to be constitutionally eligible to serve in the Senate.

More silent generation reps than Millennials, when they should be one of the largest groupings, is absolutely disgusting

The idea of a man from the 1940s governing America in the 2020s is absurd. Ballparking it, nobody who remembers the moon landing should be anything more than a personal advisor to the legislature.

The first millenial to reach retirement age will be in 2048; 23 years from now.

    Boomers pulled it off, honestly.

It wasn’t accidental, they aren’t stupid, and you have to hand it to them. While everyone made fun of all these old doddering asses in leadership, how “stupid” they were, no one noticed the long game they were playing the entire time. They redrew lines, planted local election boards with their hand picks, and slow walked two entire generations into finding it normal for a family to have no parents at home because it isn’t mandatory that an 80 hour per week job pays enough to afford gas and food, with lives basically owned by the corporations who determine if we are worthy of seeing a doctor.

It’s why they rained hellfire down on things like the laws that used to mandate that children’s shows have at least perfunctory learning moments. The PSAs of the 80’s were targetted by legislation until they were done away with because of all the messages that told kids that girls and gays could do things, too. It’s why you don’t actually know what local radio station or broadcast network really is anymore (hint: it’s not just people that live in your state while working for Clear Channel or Sinclair).

They killed every law that stopped wealthy people and businesses from owning as much of all forms of media nationwide as possible.

It’s why they immediately leapt out into the open to stop LLM AI from being regulated. They saw what happened when TV and radio had legal guardrails — their money couldn’t drown out news and logic.

Anyway, so, y’know “not OK, boomers.”

  8. gen z is not 1997-present. Every other line you have the generation date range except for gen z. Gen Alpha starts at 2012 I believe. and Gen Beta starts this year. Not that they could be included in the list because they’re too young. But Gen Z is not “to present” all the same

  9. Where I’m from (Denmark), the average age of what our equivalent of senators are, is 47. As far as I know, it’s never dipped above 50.

Why don’t you people get rid of your lawmakers once they can’t even dress themselves anymore? If there’s a position that requires a bright mind, it’s that.

“Senate” is the English form of the Latin “senatus”, meaning “council of elders”, which itself derives from the Latin “senex”, meaning “old man”. So in a way we are returning to the original Roman understanding of the senate.

Really?? No Gen Z Senators? Oh that’s right….you have to be 30 years old to be a Senator.

  12. Constitution says you must be 30 years old to be a senator so there will not be any Gen Z in the Senate until 2028 at the earliest.

  13. Two thirds of the Senate are over 60. Great. At least Senate is living up to its name, after all in Latin it means “assembly of the old men”.

The fact there is a supermajority born pre-moon landing tells you everything wrong with how broken our system is.

  15. Zoomers aren’t legally allowed to run for senate yet so exclude them from the data set haha

The world will be a better place when the boomers are gone. The most entitled, selfish, dishonest, corrupt generation there ever could be.

  17. Explains a lot. Boomers crafting policies in their interest, not the collective benefit of the country. Vote them out and tax them.

millennials are just the worst in all aspects..why not participate in politics? not interested in insider trading or what?
