One of these songs will be Latvia’s entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 – but which one? You can listen to them all here and pick your favourite.
The jury has selected 24 participants from 124 applications to participate in the semi-finals of the Latvian Public Media (LSM) song contest “Supernova” – Latvia’s Eurovision selection show. The semi-finalists were announced on November 20th, as previously reported, but now the songs have been submitted for audience evaluation, and the live performance will be voted on in the semi-finals on January 31 and February 7, 2026.
The jury itself is something of a secret conclave. The organizers say that “Due to security reasons, the names of the LSM jury members will be revealed this year only after the international Eurovision Song Contest in May.” The nature of the “security reasons” is not specified. Therefore, it is impossible to know if any jury members have pre-existing relationships with any of the performers and songwriters, or other potential conflicts of interest.
Regardless, in each semi-final, 12 participants will compete for a place in the final, where the top 10 will participate. The winner of the competition, who will be determined by the jury and the audience in the final vote on February 14th, will have the opportunity to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria in May.
