Slovenia is increasing its support for Ukraine and plans to allocate about 43 million euros by the end of the year for the purchase of weapons under the American PURL program.

This was reported by 24 Channel with reference to a statement by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, these funds will strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, which remains one of the key areas of assistance. Shmyhal thanked Slovenia for its active participation in the program and emphasized that its contribution significantly expands the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He also noted that Kyiv is ready to share its unique combat experience with Slovenian partners – in particular in the field of interceptor drones, deepstrike and other types of unmanned systems.

In addition, Ukraine and Slovenia are considering launching joint industrial projects within the European EDIP and SAFE platforms, as well as following the Danish model, which allows financing weapons production directly in Ukraine.

Separately, the ministers discussed the possibility of transferring training weapons for training the Ukrainian military.

It was previously reported that the European Union is working on an urgent legal mechanism that will allow frozen Russian money to be safely used to lend to Ukraine, avoiding risks for Belgium.

Recall that Denmark will significantly reduce military assistance to Ukraine in 2026.
