Step inside Le Marché on Clifton Boulevard, and you might just feel like you’ve been transported to a small French market.

CLEVELAND — Step inside Le Marché on Clifton Boulevard in Cleveland, and you might just feel like you’ve been transported to a small French market. The new French-inspired shop, connected to Chef Kevin O’Connell’s La Ville Lumière, is set to open next Wednesday, offering everything from fresh bread and quiche to cronut pastries and chocolate croissants.

“He (O’Connell) said, ‘I have an idea — it’s time for you to move to Cleveland,’” Manager Megan Digesare recalled. “At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but once he shared his vision for opening a market, it all started to make sense.”

Le Marché calls itself the “Market for Moments,” offering items for everyday grocery needs, small gatherings, or celebrations. Shoppers can find farm-fresh eggs, fresh flowers, charcuterie, wine, and more. The market also carries local products, from bread supplied by Breadsmith Bakery to coffee from Ready Set Coffee, along with other European and specialty items.

“We wanted this space to feel warm and welcoming — the kind of place where you think, ‘I need to pick something up, let me just run to Le Marché,’” said Digesare. “Approachable, but a little bougie… a place where you can feel fancy and pop a really nice bottle of champagne or Crémant.”

The market came together quickly, with Digesare and her team transforming the space in just under two months. “It was a whirlwind, honestly, but seeing it all come together has been amazing,” she said.

Le Marché will officially be open Wednesday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a special tree lighting ceremony on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. to celebrate a soft opening.

“We wouldn’t be here without locals,” Digesare added. “They support La Ville Lumière, and hopefully they’ll support Le Marché on Clifton. The goal is simple: to give Cleveland a space that feels special — where even the little moments in life can feel like a celebration.”

Whether you’re picking up a loaf of fresh bread, a ready-to-go quiche, or a bottle of champagne, Le Marché promises to bring a little French flair — and a lot of charm — to the Cleveland neighborhood.
