Hello! Sorry to write in English.
Last night I got flashed on a traffic light on this cross here in Schonhauser Allee, Berlin
https://maps.app.goo.gl/evz9fJKQEofoiN7Y8?g_st=ipc
I’m not entirely sure if I was speeding (if yes wouldn’t be by much) or crossed a red light (it was at orange when I was about to pass and I’d have to brake relatively hard but I think it was possible to stop). Does anyone know at this specific intersection is it also a traffic light camera? The cam looked something like this attached to the photo, there were two and took two photos one after another. There was also another van exactly beside me, slightly ahead.
I’m on Probezeit so feeling quite nervous. Usually I try to follow the rules as much as possible but sometimes I struggle in these tricky orange light situations for a safe stop with cars behind me.
Thank you for your help

Yes, could be both.
Both according to https://www.blitzer.de/karte/
If there is a red light next to it, probably both
Can be both. Some are even designed for being on your phone while driving or not being buckled up
Seems it does both (speed and traffic light violations) – https://www.anwalt.de/rechtstipps/blitzer-in-10439-berlin-bornholmer-strasse-schoenhauser-allee-ungenaues-messgeraet-243828.html
This sort of blitzer can theoretically do everything
Too fast? Blitz
Red? Blitz
Truck on a No Truck road? Blitz
Not using Fax for communication? Blitz
Yes
Did you see a lightning? Usually you notice when they take a photo.
Also for the red light. But if you cross on the yellow light, it shouldn`t take a picture of you, it works only if you cross the line on the red light and also when you are too fast. AFAIK you can drive 3km/h faster, but if it is 54km/h in the city, it will blitz you. But i can be wrong.
For me i just learned, better stop harder, than cross the red light. And the cars behind you, they MUST have an SIcherheitsabstand to you, so if they do hit you from the behind, it is their fault of not having enough Abstand zu dir.
You have to try to learn hom much metres your car need to stop and how long the yellow light will still be there. But until then if you are 35-30 metres away, just brake
Drive safe <3
If it flashed twice then you got dinged for running a red light. If the traffic light was only just swapping to red you might dodge the 1 month suspension.
If another vehicle was next to yours, then you might get lucky and they got caught, or the official decides that they can’t tell which vehicle triggered the camera. You’ll know in 3-6 weeks when (if) a letter lands in your mailbox.
I’ve seen some of those inside the city already and i saw one flashing red after somebody passed a red light. So, i think yes, it’s for that too.
This thing costs up to 300.000€…
It can do ANYthing if they want to! xD
There’s one similar to it at the entrance of Munich, right after the highway ends. I’ve always wondered if it’s like the one in the tunnels (Schwarzlicht), or does it emit a red glow when it catches you?
You generally don’t want to commit any driving offenses when one of these is looking at you.
Both PLUS Future options for AI
One is not enough?

Chill. I have no idea why they do it, but they will flash oocasionaly for no good reason. I used to commute past one of these. Got the red flash at least five times without having done anything.
Both it can be both
They can even see if you are buckled up in the car or use a Phone.
OP, it you’re worried about red light, you’re only screwed if it blitzed you twice and you were still moving forward when the second one flashed. First blitz as you “cross the box,” and second blitz to verify that you kept moving through the box. If you just slightly rolled over and stopped before the second you’re fine.
Doesn’t matter now. The expensive photo is on the way.
If your are from the US this sign means: No speed-limit here. Go as fast as you can 😎
A speed camera is a stationary device used to monitor speeding and red light violations.
Lord Binface’ German cousin. Blitzekaiser von teuer
A little trick here four lines means it can monitor both directions and 3 stripes means it is only operational for one direction
Two flashes usually means red light. The first one just because you drove over a red light and the second one if you stopped after. There is a difference between a Rotlichtverstoß and a Haltelinienverstoß
This photo is a jumpscare
Generally the rule is 1 flash=speed violations, 2 flashes red light violation + possibly also the speed violation aswell.
