A photo shared on social media has caused a major scandal regarding education in North Macedonia.

Analyst Nafie Selmani has published a photo stating that Kosovo is called “Metohija” and that it belongs to the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

She accuses the party in the “VALEN” camps and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as as two allies, they should not have allowed this, according to her.

“Is it for the men of VALEN Kosovo – Kosovo, or “Metohia”, as it appears in the Geography book for the seventh grade, edition of 2025?”

And is their biggest political supporter, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, the one known for his nationalist statements, aware of this designation? Does he also agree that Kosovo is “Metohi”?

Aren’t the men of vlen a little ashamed that they fail to protect even the most basic thing of our national identity? Or, as usual, is it Ali Ahmeti, Taravari, him, them, me… everyone but them not at fault?

How many times must they humiliate you, then you humiliate us, then they humiliate you again, just for that small bone of power that they have thrown at the table of power?

“Do you have at least a shred of political courage to demand the withdrawal of this scandalous publication, and prove that you really exist beyond a decorative role in the government?” writes Selmani.

Serbia calls a part of Kosovo “Metohija” with political and religious symbolism, considering it part of itself. This claim by Serbia is reflected in the official Geography textbook in North Macedonia’s state schools.
