Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev has paid a visit to the State of Qatar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

On December 6–8, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev was on a visit to the State of Qatar.

It was noted that F. Rzayev participated in the 23rd International Doha Forum held with the support of the State of Qatar.

Within the framework of the Forum, F. Rzayev delivered a speech at a panel session dedicated to climate diplomacy. In his speech, F. Rzayev talked about our country’s policy in the transition to green energy and the use of alternative energy sources, as well as Work and achievements of the Azerbaijani presidency within the framework of COP29 and in this context, the contributions made by our country to the COP30 event held in Brazil in November of current year, and the ongoing activities within the framework of the COP “troika” international climate diplomacy.

At the same time, within the framework of the visit, F. Rzayev held meetings with the leadership and academic staff of Qatar’s Lusail University, as well as with the leadership of the International Center for Political Studies.

During the meetings, F. Rzayev spoke about Azerbaijan’s active foreign policy course pursued since the restoration of its independence, its bilateral relations and initiatives within international organizations, as well as the restoration of our country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the activities carried out in the direction of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar both on a bilateral and multilateral basis.
