    Muslim Population by Region


    Islam is one of the world’s fastest-growing religions, and its population is spread across every region — but not evenly. Most Muslims live in Asia, home to about 1.6 billion people who follow Islam, from Indonesia and Pakistan to India and Bangladesh. Africa comes next with over 760 million, where countries like Nigeria, Egypt, and Sudan have huge Muslim communities.

    Europe is home to around 62 million Muslims, thanks yo the recent times migration. North and South America have much smaller numbers, though they’re growing steadily, especially in the U.S., Canada, and Brazil. Oceania remains the least populated region in this sense, with around 1 million Muslims.

      Absolutely wrong information, the Muslim population is around 2 billion and according to this map it is more than 2.4 billion

      Is the European side of Istanbul counting for Europe here because that’s like 16 million of the 62 million muslims

      Always wonder what they base this on. Growing up with mates from loads of different backgrounds, Iranian, pashtun, Pakistani, I bet they would be included included in these figures. But believe you and me when I say that loads are not even close to being actual Muslims. Gotta keep those stats padded though!

      I’m trying to make this simple and offer a first step toward understanding life.

      -First, think about the difference between culture and religion.
      -Not all Christians are involved in abuse; cases linked to the “Vatican culture”(very small group)
      -Not all Muslims are terrorists; most extremists come from war-affected regions or suffer from severe psychological issues (very small group)
      -In fact, these stereotypes account for well under 1% of all Muslims and christian
      -The harmful actions used in these stereotypes are forbidden in both religions and cultures.

      These examples may seem simplistic, but I hope they help the comment section take a first step toward thinking critically rather than being influenced by sensationalist media.

      As member of a minority group that is frequently pursued and killed in all countries of muslim dominance, I’m very afraid for my life when I see these numbers growing.

      The number for North America seems extremely low to me. I’m German and we alone already have several million, how can the whole US+Canada only have insignificantly more than us? 😳

      How do we know that these numbers are accurate though ?? Most Muslim countries don’t even allow changing religion or leaving Islam.

      I’m an exmuslim but yet I still count as a Muslim to them and in these statistics.

      Theres as many in murica as there is in the UK and they are much more spread ourt, and therefore integrated, in the US

      Not to be a dick but I don’t wanna see Europe turn into a Muslim majority. Especially being Mexican it already bothers me that Spain being the paternal fatherland is one of those countries. It’s sad. Especially for Britain. I’d hate to see my Anglo brothers become a minority in their own country. But then again it’s western civilization that’s misplaced those Muslim people.

      As an Australian, this is far too many. They are responsible for a lot of crime since immigrating here.

      How is this counted? Islam forces others to join their horrible religion and in many countries you can get prison or get murdered when you say you are not muslim, so how do you count this people?
