During the flu epidemic, restrictions on patient visits have been imposed at Rīga East Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS) since December 9th, RAKUS said.

Visitors with any symptoms of acute viral infection – cough, sneezing, runny nose, elevated body temperature – will not be allowed to visit patients. Only one visitor will be allowed to visit a patient at a time. Outerwear is strictly prohibited in the wards, and face masks must be worn while in the hospital.

Due to restricted visits, relatives have the opportunity to deliver packages with necessary items to patients.

The receipt and delivery of parcels intended for patients is organised by the staff of the relevant inpatient department where the patient is being treated.

More information on the procedure for visiting patients can be found here.
