Starting December 14th, the schedule for Vivi passenger trains will change to winter schedule, according to the company. The arrival and departure times for several routes have changed by a few minutes, some routes have been extended, and other changes have been made.
An interval schedule has been introduced on the Aizkraukle line – trains run at regular intervals, making it easier for passengers to plan their journeys and navigate the schedule. Trains on the Aizkraukle line will continue to run twice an hour during peak hours.
The Rīga–Rēzekne express train will be extended to Ludza, which will significantly affect the train’s departure time on the return journey to Riga.
On the Rīga–Zilupe route, there will still be two trains in each direction, but their timetables will change. The current train schedule will remain unchanged for the Liepāja, Krāslava, Indra, Madona, and Gulbene routes, with minor changes to train departure and arrival times.
The number of trains on the Rīga–Daugavpils route will remain unchanged, with six trains running in each direction. One of these will be an express train, and one will be a connecting train, on which passengers will have to change from an electric train to a diesel train in Aizkraukle. The stops at which certain trains will stop have been changed.
As the repair work initiated by VAS “Latvijas dzelzceļš” will continue for several more months, trains in the direction of Jelgava, Skulte, Tukums, and Valga will run according to schedules adjusted for the repair work.
From December 14, the train schedule to Skulte will change. During the renovation work, trains will run once an hour, but during peak hours on weekdays, there will be additional trips between Zemitāni and Vecāķi, Carnikava, or Saulkrasti, during which trains will not run to Rīga Central Station.
All current changes can be viewed on the Vivi website and mobile app.
