On Thursday, for the third day in a row, heat records were broken in Latvia, according to information from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Until now, the warmest December 11 was in 1944, when 8.6 degrees were recorded in Jelgava, but last night this record was broken.
During the day, the temperature will remain between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius. The sky will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain.
There will be gusty southwesterly and westerly winds of up to 8-13 metres per second, and up to 15-17 metres per second on the coast of Kurzeme.
In Rīga, there will be occasional rain and gusty southwesterly and westerly winds. The maximum air temperature will be around +8 degrees Celsius.
