Sometimes constantly being good to somebody doesn’t lead to mutual love, but to the feeling you can do whatever you like with the one that is good, to treat him like a mop. If someone can’t appreciate the good you show him, you better ignore that person and let him deal with his own problems, and certainly not invite his problems to you.
No one is forcing you to do anything to yourself. You have your own country and now your own language – and this is cool for you. Nobody gave you this opportunity 150 years ago. They literally declined you this opportunity. And gave us this opportunity – you weren’t liberated from the Turks with us, even though you had to be.
And we are not the ones beating up macedonians on our streets.
