The industrial production of Moldova increased by three per cent in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to data by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED). Authorities say that this evolution confirms the impact of investments made by local companies in modernization, digitalization and the expansion of production capacities.
The manufacturing industry stays the main driver of growth, registering an advance of 2.5 per cent, contributing 2 percentage points to the dynamics of the industrial sector. Within manufacturing, growth was supported by such activities as the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, the production of measuring and control equipment, metal constructions and the manufacturing of clothing articles. Positive momentum was also seen in expanding industries: metallurgy, printing, equipment production, plastics, toys and the chemical industry.
In contrast, the food industry recorded a decline of 5.7 per cent, reducing the overall pace of the manufacturing industry by 1.1 percentage points.
According to the ministry, the data confirms the shaping of an increasingly modernized, diversified and technology-oriented national industry, where companies’ investments show direct effects on economic performance.
