    From the article:

Indiana state Senator Mike Gaskill, a Pendleton Republican, declared on Thursday that a “second civil war has already started” in the United States, as he urged his colleagues to back an ultimately unsuccessful state redistricting push backed by President Donald Trump.

“I will submit to you that the Second US Civil War has already started. They’re just using surrogates,” the Republican lawmaker s aid. The Indiana state senator added, “I submit to you that that’s accurate.”

  2. More a unconstitutional Republican power grab has started in an effort institute a permanent system of oligarch and plutocracy.

Republicans want tyranny of the Minority rule

  3. Are there no laws regarding reckless disinformation occasioning mass panic or a call to violence?

Because a FUCKING politician claiming that a civil war has started isn’t just a reality T.V show stunt.

    It’s serious fucking business.

OR AT LEAST IT FUCKING SHOULD BE.

From the article the redistricting bill lost 19-31. Indiana is a very Red state. A different GOP state senator made a speech about NOT endorsing misinformation, bending to outside pressure, threats of violence, violence itself, and ignoring the outside “noise”. Rather that it was overtime to address household costs, business costs, healthcare, education and other factors “he was elected to address.”

First Pence, now the Indiana State senators. Hallel – fucking- ujah! Who would have thought of Indiana as a shining beacon? Go Hoosiers!

[Frankly, I think they’re scared of a disgruntled electorate. Watering down some of those districts with Blue regions might be just enough to turn the whole district Blue if people are angry enough.]

  5. The country that accepts shooting its babies at schools thinks a civil war is a big deal. Interesting

  6. It must feel real embarrassing to be calling for a civil war and have your colleagues leave you standing by yourself. What a tool.

Well, he can go fight it on his own.

    Preferably in the bathroom.

And he better flush this time.

  8. So people need to realize he is right. They are redistricting as part of the “civil war.” We gotta stop complaining about it being unfair and realize that is the point. It *is* a hostile action.

  9. I wish they would just shut the fuck up. This is what happens when the unpopular “edgy” debate team kids who then became the poli sci majors who didnt get into a frat house are given actual authority.

  10. republican rank and file should be seeing, by now, they are being used by their party leaders that are only interested in enriching themselves by stealing your labor and money… every time you lose they win… every time. They don’t want you to realize they only thrive IF YOU LET THEM..!!…. peace.

  11. Whenever I hear these wannabe “tough guys” threaten another civil war, the first thing that comes to mind is W.C. Field’s saying “Go away, kid, ya bother me”. Fucking children throwing a temper tantrum.

  12. >After comparing the situation to another civil war, Gaskill also compared it to World War II,

    What a clown
