I lived in HK in 2016, so between the yellow umbrella movement and the later protests. I loved my time there, but it did feel like a dying city, as China exerted more and more control over it.
I want to go back one day, but at the same time I’m scared as to what kind of city I will find.

How many times has this party disbanded only to announce a few months later that they are disbanding for real this time?
The best option for Hong Kongers now is to take up the offer of a British Overseas National Passport and get the fuck out. Britain may have it’s problems, but Hong Kongers fit in well here, and I’d encourage as many as possible to come over.

China sucks! Informed empowered Democratic rule is where societies should land. God tier leaders should never be allowed.

Fair play to them for lasting as long as they did.

what happened to HK is such a fucking tragedy. yet barely anyone even remembers it now. and suddenly “progressives” are all over china, because communism or something, and “west bad”.
man, how I miss the time without tankie trash everywhere. when it was cruel authoritarian right wing filth vs liberals for human rights, freedom, environment. now the “left” is full of tankies adoring china, middle eastern pits that execute LGBT people, even NK and ruzzia ffs, and want all that to rise up, destroy the “evil West”, and take its place. what a world it would be…

Right… I’m sure they just willingly disbanded.
