Belgrade has been ranked among the five best filming locations in Europe in the selection for the European Film Commission Network’s EUFCN Location Award 2025.

The Serbian capital is a finalist for the most significant European recognition for outstanding filming locations and cooperation with international productions.

Belgrade was nominated for this award by the Serbian Film Association due to the filming of the American series The Librarians: The Next Chapter, which was produced in Serbia by the production company Balkanic Media.

This unique award, presented for the ninth time by the European Film Commission Network (EUFCN), brings together top professionals from the film industry and recognises destinations that, through Film Friendly policies and institutional support, have aided productions in realising film and TV projects, especially those that promote the cultural heritage of a destination through film.

The jury for the award, composed of globally renowned location managers, producers and production designers, selected Belgrade for the shortlist of five cities. Alongside Belgrade are La Palma (Spain), Figueira da Foz (Portugal), Inari (Finland) and Sangerhausen (Germany).

The city that will be proclaimed the best filming location will be announced in February during a ceremony at the Berlinale.
