Hello from Finland!
I can’t remember exactly how it started, but I’ve listened Polish music for a long time. There’s something that genuinely strikes me – perhaps the melancholy looming in the background, or maybe your poetic language, which I btw dont understand but the very very basics.
So I have a question too. Bands/artists I’ve found enjoying the most are Akurat, Koniec Śviata, Poparzeni Kawą Trzy, Lao Che, T.Love, Happysad. So basically Rock/Ska/Alternative but I like other genres as well. Please suggest me more good Polish music. The era doesn’t matter, it can be new or old stuff.
Oh and for the last, does anyone know why Akurat’s first three albums cant be found from Spotify? Or are they available in some other streaming service besided Youtube? Dziękuję!

Budka Suflera
Zabili mi żółwia, strachy na lachy, Myslovitz, farbę lehre, republika
Mayby piżama porno
I like Big Cyc and Lady Pank
Don’t know for sure if this is the case with Akurat, but many other bands from that time were signed up in a record label that went bankrupt or something. For instance Illusion and Closterkeller (another recommendations) had to rerecord some of their early albums.
Specifially about Akurat I heard a story that the first label contract they signed up was giving out basically their whole rights to the music to the label. To the point that when they played on the charity event and there was a DVD from this concert relased, they had to pay the label crazy amount of money. I read about it in the local newspaper ~15 years ago so I might not remebering it right.
The early Akurat albums are not available on Spotify due to a copyright dispute and a conflict with the vocalist, who was fired for drinking, if I remember correctly. They are the best albums in my opinion, but unfortunately, the collaboration was disastrous
Farben Lehre, Hurt (especially “Załoga G”)
Kult
Republika goat. Lady Pank, Budka Suflera. Old great
Mgła – Exercises In Futility
The student core
Rezerwat
Buldog- same leading artist from Akurat.
I’m suprised nobody has mentioned Myslovitz yet. If you’ll go for their music, then try out both “Miłość w Czasach Popkultury” and “Korova Milky Bar” (or at least every album until “Happiness Is Easy”)
Based on what bands you mentioned you should like Pidżama Porno, Republika, Strachy na Lachy and Hurt.
Also check out Voo Voo – it’s a moody jazz-rock band.
You’re gonna love “Kombajn do zbierania kur po wioskach” 😃

bajm – glam rock/synth rock
elektryczne gitary – classic rock

t.love – im not really sure how to categorize them but i like calling them “cringe rock” lol, not in a negative way tho
republika – post punk
I could go on for hours recommending polish bands but those are the few i could think at the moment and would probably fit your taste
Check on Habakuk, tastes great with akurat
Cool Kids of Death.
Siekiera – Nowa Alexandria
Klinika – tourdion
Super Girl & Romantic Boys (if theyre into disko somehow)
Post Regiment (punk as fuck)
I’ll second Myslovitz – they’re like Polish Radiohead and their classic albums from 2000s tare having a moment again. Artur Rojek’s solo music is also good.
Since not a lot of people are recommending newer stuff: Franek Warzywa is a wacky experimental pop that breached the containment of the Polish internet when Fantano reviewed them some time ago.
For some female alt pop musicians Brodka, Bovska (Kimchi is a banger) and Daria Zawiałow are cool.
If you’d like to check out some good alt rap from 2000s, I recommend two albums: F3 by Fisz Emade Tworzywo and Koniec Żartów by Łona i Weber. They’re more playful than polish hip hop of that era and fun to listen to even if you don’t understand the lyrics.
