Afrim Veseli, a retired colonel of the Kosovo Security Force, has spoken about the participation of Serbian paramilitaries in the war in Ukraine, who have declared that, as soon as they finish there, they will return to the Balkans.

Regarding this issue, the British media outlet The Telegraph has also reported that these members are preparing for a major war in the Balkans.

Veseli said that this warning should be taken seriously.

“Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, I have watched several videos of Serbian paramilitaries who are on the Ukrainian front, namely in the war against the Ukrainian people and their freedom,” he stated.

“They have made many posts calling on their compatriots in Serbia to join that war. Of course, the intelligence of NATO and other Western countries, in this case Great Britain, has even more accurate information. As for whether there will be a risk of a conflict in the Balkans, there are actually two hotbeds of crisis that could potentially erupt: Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Kosovo,” Veseli said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the departure of these members to Ukraine was not without the knowledge of the Serbian state and that this differs from the case of Kosovo, where some Albanians had gone to the wars in the Middle East, but without the support of the state.

“In the case of Albanians, the state of Kosovo has not only not supported them, but on the contrary has fought these phenomena. While in the case of Serbs in Ukraine, the Serbian state, indirectly through intelligence agencies, supports them and even trains them,” said Veseli.
