Morocco has achieved a new milestone in its frozen raspberry exports to France, setting a record volume in 2025, according to EastFruit.

In the first 10 months of the year, France imported 1.95 thousand tons of frozen raspberries and blackberries (HS Code 081120) from Morocco, worth USD 5.8 million. This figure is already 25% higher than last year’s shipments and 5% above the previous record set in 2022.

Morocco’s first official deliveries of frozen raspberries to France were recorded in 2003, amounting to just 58 tons. Export volumes grew steadily over the years, surpassing the 1,000-ton mark only in 2021. The upward trend continued in 2022, when Morocco reached record levels and entered the top five suppliers of frozen raspberries to France for the first time. However, exports fell sharply in 2023, recovering to previous levels only this year.

As of October 2025, France ranks as the fifth-largest destination for Moroccan frozen raspberry exports, accounting for 7% of total shipments.

France’s frozen raspberry and blackberry market is dominated by Serbia and Poland, which together supply half of total imports. Ukraine has secured third place for the second consecutive year, having nearly quadrupled its exports over the past five years.

In 2024, Belgium and Cyprus were among the top five suppliers. This year, however, Cyprus’s shipments have declined significantly, opening competition for the fifth position. Morocco currently holds that spot, closely followed by Germany, Cyprus, and Chile.

Whether Morocco can repeat its 2022 success and firmly secure a place among the top five exporters of frozen raspberries to France will become clear in the coming months.
