The European Union has assessed that the lack of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia continues to hinder both sides on their path towards European integration, according to the Declaration adopted at the EU-Western Balkans Summit.

In the document issued after the summit, the EU emphasizes that all agreements reached in the dialogue mediated by the European Union must be implemented, including the Agreement on the Path to Normalization and its Annex.

“The lack of normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade continues to hold both partners back on their European path. All agreements reached through the EU-facilitated dialogue must be implemented, especially the Normalization Agreement and the Implementation Annex.”

“Support under the Reform and Growth Instrument for the Western Balkans is conditional on the constructive engagement of partners with progress and tangible results in the normalization of their relations,” the statement said.

The EU also announces that financial and political support through the Reform and Growth Instrument for the Western Balkans will be conditional on constructive engagement and measurable progress in the process of normalization of relations.

The declaration was adopted by the European Union and the Western Balkan countries, but Serbia has not harmonized with this document, as none of its representatives participated in the summit./Telegraph.
