Irwin’s time of 31:44 (31:42 chip) saw her finish second overall in a highly competitive field on one of the UK’s fastest 10K courses.

The performance marks a nine-second improvement on her previous Northern Irish record, further cementing her status as one of the country’s leading distance runners.

Irwin, who runs for Cambridge & Coleridge AC and competes internationally for Great Britain & Northern Ireland, has steadily progressed on the road running circuit, combining flat speed with tactical strength over the 10-kilometre distance.
