The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has welcomed the European Union’s decision to lift punitive measures against Kosovo, emphasizing that the Government has remained convinced from the beginning that these measures were unjust.

In a reaction on the social network X, Kurti wrote that EU measures punished Kosovo for divisions that, according to him, were orchestrated by Serbia.

He also mentioned the terrorist attacks that occurred during this period, including the fatal attack in Banjska and another in Ibër-Lepenc that targeted critical infrastructure.

“We welcome the EU’s decision to lift the measures imposed on Kosovo. Our government has consistently maintained that these measures were unjust from the beginning, as they sanctioned Kosovo for the discord orchestrated by Serbia – an agenda that also led to numerous major terrorist attacks on our territory,” Kurti wrote.

The acting Prime Minister added that despite the challenges, Kosovo’s institutions have maintained their full commitment to the European Union and fulfilling the membership criteria.

“Throughout this period, we have remained fully committed to the European Union, to meeting the criteria for membership and to continuing as committed allies and champions of democratic values,” Kurti emphasized./Telegrafi.
