Hi, I’m living in Germany for a few years already and boy oh boy is this router shitty. I have a contract with vodafone and they told me that they will deliver me a free router, I thought to myself that this was great. And then as soon as i turned it on first problem started with it just not turning on wifi, like the other lights were on as in power and internet, but wifi just couldn’t turn on. So I just factory reset it and it resolved the issue. Then came the 2nd problem that I’m struggling with right now, the router just restarts randomly, I have heard many people having the same problem as me, but I don’t know if i should get a completely new router or should i rent a fritz!box from vodafone? (btw I have a pinned image of a router, and I can’t use wired network because my working space is in the other room)

I have exactly the same problem. I contacted vodafone and they are going to replace my router. I suggest you contact vodafone as well.
Have you accessed it via the admin interface?
Mine works OK, so just get it replaced or checked out by a technician.
Do you have it in vertical and well ventilated? I had the issue as well and after replacing it and having the issue again this was the cause
I just called their service and they replaced it at no cost for me, even got the next month’s internet cheaper
I had the same router and it wasn’t great, but at least stable (as well as the connection itself), yours is probably malfunctioning so ask them for a replacement first. Shouldn’t be an issue with it overheating, they do get quite warm but unless it’s squeezed between a bunch of books in a bookshelf or some other tight space, this shouldn’t be the issue.
Can I just use a normal router instead of this? Just curious
Pro tip, leave vodafone for literally any other isp
