On 21 July 2025, in Beijing, the ninth round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the People’s Republic of China was held, within the framework of which the parties discussed issues of deepening strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, transport and tourism.

Joint projects in the fields of transport and logistics were emphasized. The Georgian side expressed its readiness to further strengthen its role in the development of both the “Belt and Road” initiative and the “Middle Corridor”, including in new initiatives for regional cooperation.

The meeting also discussed ongoing processes and challenges in the region and the world.

The Georgian side reaffirmed Georgia’s firm support for the “One China” principle, while the Chinese side reaffirmed its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

Special attention was also paid to recent high-level visits, which contribute to the deepening of cooperation.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili from the Georgian side and the Deputy Foreign Minister, Liu Bin from the Chinese side.
