Boris Pejović, deputy speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, has stated that Kosovo has been essentially recognized by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić himself.
Pejović made these comments in a harsh response to the speaker of the Serbian parliament, Ana Brnabić, following her accusations against Montenegro for recognizing Kosovo.
“After all, Kosovo has essentially been recognized by your president. Deal with it — and leave us alone,” he wrote on X.
Pejović’s response followed Brnabić’s claims that Montenegro violated international law, the UN Charter, and fundamental respect for Serbia by recognizing Kosovo.
Brnabic also argued that five EU member states still do not recognize Kosovo, implying, according to her, that Montenegro acted against European norms.
The dispute escalated after Brnabic accused Montenegro of harboring two of the most dangerous criminal clans in the world — “Skaljari” and “Kavac” — claiming that they could not function without state support.
Pejović rejected the allegations, accusing Brnabić of deliberately changing narratives to portray Vučić as a victim.
He stressed that the criminal clans she mentioned emerged in 2014 and that individuals suspected of links to these groups have no influence over the current Montenegrin government.
Pejović also reminded Brnabić that all individuals suspected of facilitating the arrival of Veljko Belivuk’s criminal group from Serbia to Montenegro have already been prosecuted. /Telegraph/
