Based in Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, Belgium, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1955. Guided by former chief conductors Jaap van Zweden, Edo De Waart, and Elim Chan, Marc Albrecht will assume the role of chief conductor beginning in the 2026-2027 season. In addition to the ensemble’s regular performances in Queen Elisabeth Hall as well as multiple other local venues, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra organizes educational outreach initiatives that bring classical music to children and communities.
