Hi everyone, as I was traveling yesterday on the train EC 150 with a friend, one of the worst things happened… We had a smooth ride from Italy to Switzerland but once we crossed the border it got messy. The train was overbooked. Me and my friend had booked some seats so we were feeling less stressed but pretty soon it got quite claustrophobic. My friend put her luggage on the rack at the end of the coach and mine next to hers on the bottom. We had to change trains in Mannheim and we struggled to get out of our seats to get to the rack, but I wanted to get there because it was so packed I was afraid we wouldn’t have been able to pass through all the people with our big luggage. I grabbed the handle of the one next to my friend’s and tried to lift it as much as possible to get it out quickly once the train stopped, only to realize right before getting out that that wasn’t my luggage at all. I panicked and scanned all the other black ones but couldn’t find mine. It wasn’t there. We had to rush out because we only had 5 minutes to change but I’m feeling emotionally destroyed. It was the first time I packed everything in one single luggage instead of having to carry multiple bags and I never lost sight of it prior to Karlsruhe I think, but there were people directly sitting in front of the rack and one black luggage blocking the view. I filed a report immediately with the help of my boyfriend on the phone. Hopefully the lost and found service will identify it but I’m afraid someone took it. I had all my clothes for 3 weeks, Christmas gifts and sentimental objects like my favorite plushies. One plushie has a nametag with my phone number. I’ve been spiraling since yesterday… If anyone has it and wants to give it back please reach out. I added an old picture of what my luggage looks like. Please help me find it! 🥺

I haven’t had any luck finding lost luggage in Germany but I wish you all the best. I now always have a luggage with a distinctive color, stickers and a name tag on it to make sure I can quickly, easily and reliably identify it. I’m sorry you lost all your stuff. It really sucks.
