The European Parliament has just voted in favour of strengthening reproductive rights across the EU, following the My Body, My Choice citizens’ initiative supported by over 1.2 million Europeans.
The resolution reaffirms that women should have the right to decide over their own bodies and calls on the EU Commission to support access to safe abortion care, including cross-border care for women forced to travel from restrictive EU states.
As many here know, Malta still has one of the most restrictive abortion laws in Europe, with abortion remaining illegal in almost all circumstances. This vote doesn’t automatically change national laws, but it does increase political pressure and highlights how isolated Malta is becoming on this issue within the EU.

It’s about time to change the law…
Why the fuck do we have old men deciding what rights women get based on outdated morals anyway?
It’s absolutely wild that women don’t have the right to decide what to do with their own body in this day and age.
Even worse when you factor in that the mother could require the abortion as the pregnancy would likely kill her.
Hopefully Malta finally gets its act together and stops pandering to the church.
Pass il-quddiem. Ha nibqghu influenzati bil-knisja qisna pajjiz tal-medju evu. Mara minix imma nissapportja dejjem id-drittijiet tan-nisa. U l-politikanti Maltin huma aghar minn useless; ma jiehdux stand ma jmurx jitilfu il-voti.
When are we going to start giving moms more paid maternity leave and higher maternity leave sas money tho
Huge victory for women greater loss for the helpless unborn. Shame on you
I think it should only be legal in Malta in cases of:
1) The mother’s life is in danger
2) The baby will be disabled (even if they are not 100% sure at detecting it)
3) In case the mother was raped/didn’t consesnt
But for other reasons imo it should be illegal as its still an unborn human we are talking about
I hope it will work also for men, we have gender equality, right?
I mean if my baby is in some woman I should have the right to kill it before it will get out of her(don’t be angry on me, this is basically what abortion is) or at least not being forced to support it financially if I don’t want(financial abortion concept).
“my body, my choice” ?
does it cover previous “vaccine” mandates and intimidation during madness of lockdowns? lol
A huge loss for human decency, human life, the most innocent in our society and even the democratic power of our republic.
Only the brainwashed could possibly support the killing of human life by closing an eye to morality, science, logic, or all three.
Abortion-by-law is yet another failed policy from outdated twentieth-century post-war politics that, like so many other failed ideas, has played its part in wreaking havoc on Western civilisation—the results of which are now too apparent to ignore.
i am againsy imposition of moral issue by Europe. states are free to choose.
freedom of movement faciltates one goes to exercise his moral choice elsewhere
Yes yes yes!
