
Harsh Statistics: Every Seventh Person in Latvia Has a Minimal Level of Education
In total, the share of such residents is 14.3%. Of these, approximately 116,100 are men and 80,300 are women.
A general secondary education has been obtained by 22.9% of residents — approximately 162,800 men and 150,800 women. Vocational or secondary specialized education is held by 28.4% or approximately 388,800 residents.
Higher education in Latvia is held by 34.2% or approximately 468,500 people.
According to data from the Central Statistical Bureau, women in Latvia more often obtain higher education, while men more frequently pursue vocational education.
