The center of the Baku Diocese – St. Murdashian Contemplatives Cathedral or “Jen Mironosits” Orthodox Cathedral Church

It was built in 1909 in the Russian style based on the project of the architect M. Verzhbitsky, with the personal financial assistance and donations of the famous Azerbaijani millionaire and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. Prominent political and religious figures of that time participated in the opening of the church.
