The Secret Santa exchange is official completed!

Thanks to everyone who participated, sent gifts, was patient and fair – the vast majority of the exchange went exactly as it should.

Let’s go into a little more detail about the exchange itself:

Applications

In total, we received over 30 applications, but only 14 were valid.

The reason for this is that a good number of applicants did not follow the instructions – some applied with their real first and last name, even though the rules clearly state that only Reddit usernames must be specified in the application, and that participants must contact modmail via a quick link for verification.

This step was necessary to ensure that real and active Reddit users participate, reduce the possibility of trolling and “hosting”, and protect other participants in the exchange.

Gifts

There were a variety of gifts – from cute trinkets to creative and personalized choices.

In digital exchange, e-gift cards (Amazon, Steam, etc.) appeared most often, which is completely normal and completely in the spirit of this format.

We remind you that the value of the gift was never the most important thing – the idea, goodwill and participation are the point of the whole story.

Grinch ready

As announced at the beginning of the exchange, the Grinch list is also published at the end – a list of participants who have not fulfilled their obligations.

It is on that list u/Comfortable_Reach248who was unavailable to his gifter on Elfster and who, despite multiple warnings and an extended deadline, did not send the gift.

Because of him, the exchange got stuck at one point, so we had to connect the two participants manually. This correction went through without any problems and the exchange was duly concluded.

We are glad that in the end we ensured that everyone who contacted us, was active and wanted to participate, was not left without a gift.

The Grinch list serves exclusively as a record for future exchanges, protection of other participants and as a way for us all to know what we are up to next year. The point is not in public name-calling, but in a fair and honest game.
