Latvian Radio has a real festive treat for your ears with a special Christmas concert of baroque music.   

On the evening of December 19th, the acclaimed baroque violinist Alfia Bakijeva gave her first concert in Latvia in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia. She performed with the State Chamber Orchestra “Sinfonietta Riga” at the “European Christmas” festival, both as a soloist and as a conductor.

Alfia Bakieva is of Tatar descent and was born in Novosibirsk, Russia. She currently lives in Salzburg, Austria.

Everyone could follow the concert “Sinfonietta Riga. Baroque Christmas. Bach and Telemann” live on numerous European radio stations via Euroradio, and now a recording of this concert is also available.
