The Kosovo Police, namely the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, has arrested a Kosovar male person on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “False Declaration under Oath”.
According to the Kosovo Police announcement, the case began in June 2025, when the suspect, in his capacity as the complainant, informed the Kosovo Police that some officials were demanding bribes in order to transfer shares to his ownership, which he claimed to have purchased from co-shareholders.
After receiving the information, the Kosovo Police, in coordination and with the authorization of the competent prosecutor, has undertaken investigative actions. During these actions, evidence has been obtained, from which it results that the suspect is suspected of having made false statements regarding the case.
With these actions, according to the Police, the suspect committed the criminal offense of “False declaration under oath”. He was interviewed on 22.12.2025 in the presence of the defense attorney and, after the interview, by decision of the prosecutor, he was detained for 48 hours.
Investigations into the case are continuing.
