I wash them using Ariel Vollwaschmittel in the Pflegeleicht + trocknen setting. I don’t understand why they come out with a stain like this. I tried to wash the bedsheet again without any detergent thinking the stain would disappear or wash off but it didn’t. Please help

  1. Why “Pflegeleicht”? Use the “Baumwolle” option, set the temperature to the max. the fabric of the bedsheet allows (usually 60C) and use enough detergent (“Vollwaschmittel” for white-ish laundry, see the box for the right dosage) and you’re done.

Don’t mix coloured / low temperature laundry with the bedsheets. It’s also a bad idea not to use any detergent, especially if you live in an area with hard water.

You probably washed something that did this to your laundry. For example, I had similar stains on nearly all my tshirts and it took me quite some time to realize they’ve all been in the same laundry cycle once with a pair of pants that had previously been recolored by me (a couple of washes before). The color just wore off into my other stuff.

First: calm down. Most stains have a way to get rid of them. 🙂

Then: try Gallseife. You can get it at DM, Rossmann, Budni… most of the times anywhere you get your detergent from. Get yourself a piece of this soap (not the liquid kind!). Wet the cloth with lukewarm water and rub the gall soap in. Leave it for 30 minutes, then wash as advised on the label. (Bedsheet made from cotton should be washed at 60°C.) Most stains should come out this way.

For the future: 1. Try to learn how to separate your clothes into different piles to wash. Like white clothes, dark clothes, bedsheets, towels etc. and read the labels carefully. 2. If you have mixed clothes in the washing machine, try using a “Farbfangtuch” (colour catch fabric, you’ll find them also at the drugstore). They come in handy as they “catch” most of the bleeding colours and prevent stuff like in your picture from happening. 🙂

Pro tip: You can use regular white vinegar or apple cider vinegar as a fabric softener. The smell goes away after the clothes are dry, it’s much cheaper than regular one, better for the environment and doesn’t create allergies. 🙂
