Egypt are participating in the  Africa Cup of Nations for the 27th time in their history, aiming for a record-extending eighth title in the continental  football tournament.

The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group B, where they will face Zimbabwe, South Africa and Angola.

Egypt have not won the tournament since 2010, when they completed a historic three-peat that began on home soil in 2006 and continued in 2008.

Since then, they have reached the final twice, in 2017 and 2022, but fell short on both occasions.

Captain Mohamed Salah is still chasing his first AFCON title and will be supported by a strong cast, including Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush and Al Ahly’s Mahmoud Trezeguet, as Egypt look to reclaim continental glory.
