News in railway logistics: the renewal of the company contract of Medway, a railway company of the Msc group, has been signed and will be valid for three years until 31 May 2028. This was announced by Fit-Cisl. “The agreement – explains a note of the union – closes the start-up phase of the company and defines a more structured and mature contractual framework, introducing clear and shared rules on the organisation of work for all staff”. The agreement is expected to affect about 200 workers.

The agreement recognises, in addition to the pay increases provided for in the national first-level collective agreement, an increase of EUR 230 on the minimum wage at the middle level (of which EUR 120 has already been paid), as well as significant increases in some existing allowances for all employees, and introduces new ones, including allowances for night work, reserve and conduct.

‘For the regulatory part,’ the note explains, ‘measures have been defined that are aimed at improving the balance between working time and life time, establishing certain and defined criteria for working hours, shift scheduling and daily and weekly rests; at reinforcing training and ensuring higher and higher safety standards in the workplace.

‘Among the most important innovations,’ Fit-Cisl further emphasises, ‘are an additional company contribution equal to 1% of the useful salary to the Priamo supplementary pension fund and protection in the event of unsuitability, which ensures employment continuity and relocation of personnel within the Group.

‘The economic and regulatory contents of the agreement represent a central element in guaranteeing predictability, balance and sustainability in the organisation of work, providing concrete protection for workers, encouraging better planning of activities and the construction of a modern and sustainable organisational model, capable of accompanying the company’s growth and development in an increasingly challenging and competitive market,’ the note concludes.
