She also is a member of the Bright Futures Coalition, American Psychological Association, West Virginia Psychological Association and the Collaborative Family Health Care Association. Her focus areas are in school-based behavioral health services with training and special interests in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic pain and written exposure therapy for PTSD. Additionally, Cottrill is part of the 2026 cohort of Emerging Leaders with the West Virginia Primary Care Association (WVPCA).

“We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Casey Jo Cottrill as the new director of our School-Based Health Centers,” said Eric Ruf, CEO of BCHA. “Her experience as a behavioral health professional, including working in both school- and community-based settings here in Barbour County, helps position her for success. “I look forward to working with our dedicated staff as we seek new and impactful ways to better serve Barbour County students and their families,” said Cottrill. “We offer a wide array of health services in our clinics, and we hope to reach more students to optimize their health, enhance their well-being and help them reach their full potential.”
