Members of Congress are accusing the government of dragging its heels on the promised release of all files relating to the deceased, sex-trafficking financier. Even some of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” supporters have turned on him, with his one-time ally Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday sharing a screenshot from the files and saying that only “evil people would hide this and protect those who participated”.

The Epstein files have torn through Trump’s base, with typically supportive Fox News hosts warning in the summer that [Trump risked losing support](https://inews.co.uk/news/world/maga-media-meltdown-epstein-trump-3811316?ico=in-line_link) over the matter.

On Monday, the release of an [additional 30,000 ](https://inews.co.uk/news/the-six-most-shocking-revelations-from-the-latest-epstein-files-drop-4131770?ico=in-line_link)documents, emails and images raised fresh questions for Trump, who makes [numerous appearances](https://inews.co.uk/news/world/epstein-revelations-coming-soon-trump-andrew-afraid-4046205?ico=in-line_link) throughout the files.
Most damaging of all is a bombshell letter apparently written by Epstein from prison in 2019, which appears to show he planned to kill himself, and was determined to drag Trump’s name into his sordid circle as he departed this world.
In the letter to Larry Nassar, the disgraced former US gymnastics team doctor serving consecutive prison terms for sexual assaults and possession of child pornography, the writer claims “our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls”.
“When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab snatch’, whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the [prison] system … Life is unfair,” notes the writer.
“As you will know by now, I have taken the ‘short route’ home,” reads the handwritten note, signed with Epstein’s name and postmarked 13 August, three days after he was found dead.
“Good luck!” the author wishes Nassar. “We shared one thing … our love and caring for young ladies and the hope they reach their full potential.”
The letter was eventually returned to the New York jail where he died, after the US postal service proved unable to deliver it to Nassar.
This is MAGA we’re talking about. They’ll forget all about this in two weeks and go back to thinking of Trump as Jesus reborn.

In a functioning country, if any evidence came up like this, there would also be a case file explaining how it was investigated and why the evidence was either fake or unreliable. There wouldn’t need to be any guessing.

MAGA have a problem: They really want to let Trump off, no matter what he’s done. He’s their guy.

They have to twist their minds in circles, disbelieving their own lying eyes, to come to the only allowable conclusion: That Trump is innocent and therefore it’s ok for them to defend him. It’s righteous. It’s good. And so are they.
But I think we all know that’s bullshit… And no matter how much they cover their eyes, they can still smell it.
