Citing individual preferences for retirees who stay in cheap hotels due to poverty, the Family Minister made a “private item expenditure” of 95 million 778 thousand TL until November.

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş made a statement regarding the retirees living in hotel rooms costing 200 TL per day, which do not even have showers or toilets: “We regretfully saw that, despite all the opportunities offered by our state, individual preferences were deliberately tried to be presented as a social crisis in order to mislead our citizens.”

It was observed that the resources used by the Ministry of Family and Social Services under the name of “Private Secretary Services” alone were based on 100 million TL in the period January-October 2025.

59 PERCENT INCREASE

The total resources used in the January-October 2025 period for expenses related to Minister Göktaş’s work program, protocol and ceremonial arrangements were recorded as 95 million 778 thousand TL.

The Ministry’s private secretary services expenditure in the January-October 2025 period increased by 59 percent compared to the January-October 2024 period, when 60 million 128 thousand TL was spent on private pencil services.
