Egypt defeated Zimbabwe 2-1, and they were trailing 1-0 through a goal from Prince Dube. In the 64th minute, Omar Marmoush scored the equalizer for Egypt.
In the 91st minute, Mohamed Salah scored the winner for the Egyptians to seal their first win of the tournament.
South Africa defeated Angola 2-1 in their first match of the 2025 AFCON. South Africa took the lead in the 21st minute through a goal from Oswin Appollis.
Show scored the equalizer for Angola in the 35th minute, and it was 1-1 at halftime. In the 79th minute, Lyle Foster scored South Africa’s second goal of the game, and it was enough for them to claim three points.
