ldo Iamandi (Gjini) became “famous” after the November 24, 2020 shooting in Remich, Luxembourg, and was placed on the list of Europe’s most wanted criminals. Foreign media outlet Luxemburger Wort reports that Gjini was later arrested in Brussels and sentenced to 30 months in prison for illegal possession of weapons and wounding, while in Albania he faces a more severe sentence.

The events began after a conflict caused by an inappropriate approach to his companions, and bullets hit the victim four times, leaving visible traces in Remich.

Subsequent investigations revealed Aldo’s connections to Albanian organized crime groups and drug trafficking to Europe. Based on decrypted communications from the encrypted SkyECC network, investigators uncovered cocaine and marijuana smuggling, internal conflicts, and organized gang structures. SPAK’s actions in Albania resulted in the arrest of ten people and the seizure of money, vehicles, and weapons used by the group.

According to the Luxemburger Wort newspaper, the case of Aldo Iamand shows the close connection between criminal events in Luxembourg and Albania, highlighting the influence of his group on international drug trafficking and armed violence. Aldo is currently in custody in Albania, where he is being investigated on charges of attempted murder and participation in a criminal network.

We recall that Aldo Gjini is one of the names involved in the latest SPAK operation against the structured criminal group “Rraja” that dealt with drug trafficking, where the son of the former SP MP, Rrahman Rraja, was also a member. Gjini was notified of the measure of arrest inside the cell.
